What Are the Common Types of RFID Labels in Daily Life?

About the structure of RFID labels in daily life, there are various forms such as card-shaped, ring-shaped, button-shaped, strip-shaped, disc-shaped, keychain-shaped, and watch-shaped.

Tag-type RFID labels:

The shapes of electronic tags vary widely, including strip-shaped, disc-shaped, keychain-shaped, and watch-shaped, etc.

Electronic labels with adhesive function:

These RFID labels have chips embedded in thin paper or plastic modules, which are often bonded with a layer of paper and coated with adhesive on the surface. This way, the electronic tags can be easily attached to objects like the self-adhesive labels used for fixed asset management.

Hanging electronic labels:

Electronic tags are also often designed as hanging types. This kind of electronic tag is portable and generally made of plastic packaging. It can be heat-resistant, frost-resistant, and have complete specifications, providing more convenience for users. Many automobile production lines also use this kind of tag as a quality control tool.

Vehicle ETC electronic tags:

Electronic tags can be used for high-speed toll collection systems. With the RFID vehicle automatic toll collection system, when a car passes through a toll station, it does not need to slow down or stop. The reader installed at the toll station identifies the vehicle and automatically deducts the toll form the car’s account.

Card-type RFID labels:

ID cards:

China’s second-generation ID cards include RFID chips. This means that through an ID card reader, the name, address, and photo stored in the ID card chip can be displayed one by one. It is the reason why passengers can directly use their ID cards to take high-speed rail.

City cards:

City cards are mainly used to cover public consumption areas such as public transportation, subways, bridge tolls, water, electricity, and gas payments. It is a secure and fast settlement network. City cards use radio frequency technology and computer networks to implement electronic payments in the field of public consumption on a public platform.

Access control cards:

Access control cards are one of the earliest commercial applications of RFID labels. The amount of information that can be carried is limited. The reader is installed near the door, where it retrieves the cardholder’s information and communicates with the backend database to decide whether the cardholder can enter the area.

Implantable RFID labels:

Compared with other electronic tags, implantable electronic tags are small, with a diameter smaller than that of automatic pencil leads. RFID labels can be embedded under the animal’s skin as an animal ID and tracking tool. The electronic tag is made of glass packaging and is implanted under the animal’s skin to replace traditional dog tags for information management.
